This is the fouth installment in a series highlighting the basketball teams participating in The Bank of Missouri Heartland Hoopfest 2008.
Jackson High School is defending an unbelievable record in the Southeast Missouri Conference with a 21-8 record. The team shows the same promise this year with the return of three lettermen. Coach Darrin Scott is optimistic about playing against St. Louis school Whitfield High in this year's The Bank of Missouri Heartland Hoopfest.
Whitfield, a non-conference school has a record of 14-12 from the 2007/08 season. Returning letterman include, Tom Hough, Martel Hulsey, Mikey Thompson, Matt Wuestner, Maurice Burns, Michael Gallagher, Julian Johnson and Alex Rudd.
Coach Mike Potsou claims, "It is nice to see the boys so excited for the upcoming season. This group is really driven to be the best team possible this year and they have voluntarily organized this off-season schedule which will ultimately make them better individual players and a better team."
This game between Jackson High School and Whitfield High School will take place at the Perry Park Center at 2:15 p.m. It will be followed by the game between Charleston High School and Gateway Tech at 3:50 p.m. Information on this game will be coming your way next week.
